Elite Shooting Sports: COVID-19 Operating Procedures
In the last year and a half, we've continued to closely monitor the COVID-19 situation. The health and safety of our staff, customers, and our community remains our top priority. We continue to follow recommendations and guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and relevant government agencies to help ensure our facility exceeds our already high standards for general hygiene and health practices.
UPDATE:
- Per CDC, in Prince William County, VA, community level is Medium (click here for additional information). COVID-19 Community Levels are a new tool to help communities decide what prevention steps to take based on the latest data. Levels can be low, medium, or high and are determined by looking at hospital beds being used, hospital admissions, and the total number of new COVID-19 cases in an area. Take precautions to protect yourself and others from COVID-19 based on the COVID-19 Community Level in your area.
- If you are at high risk for severe illness, talk to your healthcare provider about whether you need to wear a mask and take other precautions.
- People may choose to mask at any time.
- People with symptoms, a positive test, or exposure to someone with COVID-19 should wear a mask.
- If you are immunocompromised, learn more about how to protect yourself.

Effective Friday, May 29, 2020, we have resumed our normal operations, including public access to the ranges. We have revised our policies and procedures to ensure we’re taking all measures necessary to keep everybody safe.
So, what is Elite Shooting Sports doing to keep customers and staff safe?
- In Phase 3, the building is operating at its full occupancy but under the established social distancing guidelines.
- Customers are encouraged to wait in your vehicle until your lane is ready. Cell phone usage is required.
- Signs are posted limiting the number of patrons allowed in each lounge and the Café to 10 people.
- We require all personnel and customers to wear face coverings before entering the facility, in compliance with Executive Order Number 63 (2020), Order of Public Health Emergency Five, Requirement to Wear Face Covering While Inside Buildings.
- We're using an instant fever detection/thermal SnapXT scanner to take temperature of each person entering the building. The scanner accurately measures an individual’s temperature in less than one second and produces a green or red light. This cutting-edge technology is used by hospitals around the country and has been adopted by large organizations, such as NFL, Disney, and Amazon. We realize the symptoms of COVID-19 vary; however, this is just an example of extra safety measures being taken to keep everybody safe. Moreover, it's a way to show government officials that Elite Shooting Sports is proactively taking all of the precautionary measures to operate safely.
- If you have a cough, sneeze, fever, sore throat, etc, please refrain from entering our facility.
- We have installed cough/sneeze 3/8" glass guards at each register to prevent the spread of germs.
- We’re encouraging customers to observe social distancing and remain six feet apart by following the floor stickers we have placed throughout the facility.
- We have designated staff to ensure customers wait in line at an appropriate distance and guide them to available registers.
- We have implemented enhanced cleaning procedures on top of our already high standards.
- We are cleaning all high-traffic areas of our facility with greater frequency and have provided additional cleansing supplies for customer and staff use.
These policies will help promote social distancing efforts and ensure a safer environment for everyone. We greatly appreciate your understanding and compliance with the guidelines until further notice.
